W I T N E S 5 E T H: That the Contractor agrees to furnish to that CiNy, F. 0. B., tiuntington Beach, California, the following: One (1) only CROWN FIRE APPARATW) Model CF-100-93--250OT, in compliance with the City of IIuntington Beach specifi- cations dated October 4, 1954, and in accordance with the Contractor's specifications as submitted in sealed bid of October 4, 1954, for the sum total of Twenty-nine Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty-five and no/100 Dollars ($29,985.00), plus applicable State and/or local takes, with delivery to be within approximately one year. Minor changes desired by the Cite or Contmator will be accepted by the Contractor, providing said changes are agreed upon mutually between the Contractor and the City and provided said changes do not affect the construction cost of the contracted apparatus. Payment is to be made to the Contractor by U7e City either within thirty days fron date of delivery and acceptance by the City or upon such terms as to payment in installments as may be acceptable to both parties hereto. The request for this apparatus was made after a survey of the pumper capacity needed for this City,Age of the present apparatua 9 the area served by the fire department, apparatus available from the County under mutual aid and amount of water available in various &Teas of the City. Two areas of the City, The newly annexed portion in the flats east of town and the area north of 23rd and mansion streets was classified in olass 9 M as againet Claas 5 for the rest of the City due to no water or poor water supplies and no apparatus of a type capable of combatting fires in those areas. We have been promised a better rating with this type of apparatus. Thisapparatus Is to replace a 1922 Seagravc 750 Gp11. pumper presently rated at half or 375 GPM because of it's age. The 1937 Seagrave to presently rated at 920 GPU and will be cut to 60 GPM in 3 years and rated only as a stanby apparatus for seoond or greater alesms or while other app- aratus is under repair. The chassis required is mich heavier than a ;onventional pumper as the water load will be 20,825 pour.. or 500 pounds more than the total weight of our heaviest piunpere The specifications are based on the use as near as possible of standard heavy duty truck parts and equipment as used in the trucking industry and all parts,chassises and other materials are available to any bidder. As the apparatus will require about one year to be constructed would you please call for bids as soon as possible.
