Wilson, City Manager PREPARED BY: Bob Hall, Deputy City Manager SUBJECT: Approve appointments to the Environmental Board Statement of Issue: Transmitted for your consideration is the appointment of Chris Ann Lunghino to the Environmental Board to fill the vacancy of termed out member Don Rice. This appointment is recommended by City Council liaisons Connie Boardman, Keith Bohr, and Joe Shaw. Also for consideration is the re-appointment of current members Kim Nicholson, Sue Marquez, Jim Brown and Mike Marshall. Financial Impact: Not applicable Recommended Action: Motion to: A) Approve the appointment of Chris Ann Lunghino to the Environmental Board for a first term to expire June 30, 2015 as recommended by City Council liaisons Boardman, Shaw, and Bohr; and, B) Approve the re-appointment of Kim Nicholson, Sue Marquez, Jim Brown and Mike Marshall to serve a second term to expire on June 30, 2015. Alternative Action(s): Do not approve the appointments and direct staff how to proceed. HB -77- Item 5. - I REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION MEETING DATE: 8/01/2011 DEPARTMENT ID NUMBER: AD 11-018 Analysis: The Environmental Board currently has one vacancy due to the term-out of Don Rice having served two consecutive terms. Recommended for appointment is Chris Ann Lunghino. Ms. Lunghino is the Founder of Community Sustainability USA, Inc, recently featured in the HB Independent. She has a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of California, Irvine. After careful consideration, the City Council liaisons selected and recommended Chris Ann Lunghino to the Environmental Board. The following members are recommended for re-appointment to serve a second four-year term. These Environmental Board members' terms will expire in June 2015.
