Wilson, City Manager PREPARED BY: Paul Emery, Deputy City Manager/Interim Director of Community Services SUBJECT: Approve for introduction Ordinance No. 3958 amending Chapter 2.101 of the Huntington Beach Municipal Code relating to the Allied Arts Board service limitations Statement of Issue: There is a need to amend the Huntington Beach Municipal Code 2.101 eliminating Section 2.101.100, which defines Allied Arts Board member service limitations. Financial lmpact: N/A Recommended Action: Motion to: Approve for introduction Ordinance No. 3958, "An Ordinance of the City of Huntington Beach Amending Chapter 2.101 of the Huntington Beach Municipal Code Relating to the Allied Arts Board Service Limitations" by eliminating Chapter 2.101.100. Alternative Action(s): Do not approve the proposed amendments to the Huntington Beach Municipal Code and direct staff accordingly. Analysis: Huntington Beach Municipal Code Chapter 2.101 Section 2.101.100 defines service limitations for Allied Arts Board Members as no more than two (2) consecutive four- year terms. As identified in Section 2.101.030 of the municipal code there shall be no limit on the number of consecutive terms a Board member may serve. To remove the conflict staff recommends the deletion of Section 2.101.100. Environmental Status: N/A Strategic Plan Goal: Develop, retain and attract quality staff Item 20. - 1 xB -926- ATTACHMENT #1 ORDINANCE NO. 3958 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AMENDING CHAPTER 2.101 OF THE HUNTINGTON BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE ALLIED ARTS BOARD SERVICE LIMITATIONS The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 2.101.100 of Chapter 2.101 the Huntington Beach Municipal Code is hereby deleted in its entirety. SECTION 2. All other provisions of Chapter 2.101 not amended hereby shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective 30 days after its adoption.
