Wilson, City Manager PREPARED BY: Antonia Graham, Assistant to the City Manager SUBJECT: Approve the appointment of Diana Dehm to the Environmental Board as recommended by Council Liaisons Mayor Mike Posey and Councilmember Barbara Delgleize Statement of Issue: There are currently three vacant positions on the Environmental Board. This Council action will fill one of these vacant seats while the other two positions are advertised to the public as per the Maddy Act. After review of submitted applications, Diana Dehm is being transmitted for consideration for appointment to the Environmental Board. Additionally, the Environmental Board has submitted their Annual Report on activities from 2017. Financial Impact: Not applicable. Recommended Action: Approve the appointment Diana Dehm to the Environmental Board as recommended by Council Liaisons Mayor Mike Posey and Councilmember Barbara Delgleize. Diana Dehm will fill the seat left vacant by Kim Nicolson, her term will expire on June 30, 2019. Alternative Action(s): Do not approve the appointments and direct staff how to proceed. Analysis: Three vacancies currently exist on the Environmental Board. One of the vacant seats was transmitted for City Council approval in November 2017, but was not approved by the City Council. Subsequently, the City Council liaisons switched and new applications for the Board were received. The vacancy (being filled with this City Council action) was posted according to the Maddy Act. The other two vacancies recently occurred and are currently subject to the Maddy Act posting requirements and will be transmitted for City Council approval within the next thirty days. Staff reviewed all of the applications with the City Council Liaisons and their selection is reflected in this item. Environmental Status: Not applicable.
