RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the attached agreement between the City and the County for funding of pier repairs and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the agreement. ANALYSIS: In 1981, the boat landing ramp on the municipal pier was severely damaged in a violen4- storm. This boat landing ramp was used in rescue efforts and also served commercial fishing boats in the past. In 1983, the sea- ward end of the pier suffered considerable damage in a series of storms. Because of the extensive repairs necessary and the high costs involved, the City Council authorized a request to the County for financial assistance to repziir the pier. This matter was considered by the County's Harbors, Beaches & Parks Com- mission at their June, 1983 meeting and they approved a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors that the City be qranted $75,000 to assist in repairing the pier. At their August meeting, the Commission approved an additional grant of $125,000 to rentore the boat landing ramp on the pier. The attached agreement covers the total $200,000 grant and must be approved and executed by the City before it is considered and approved by the County Board of Supervisors.
