The Contractor end his sureties will be credited with the amount of money so forfeited toward any excess of cost over and above the contract price, arising from the suspension of the operations of the contract and the completion of the work by the City as above provided, and the Contractor will be so credited with any surplus remaining after all gust claims for such completion have b©ern paid. Payment - The Director of Public Works shall, after the completion of the contract, make a final estimate of the amount of work done there under, and the value of such work# and the City of Huntington Beach shall pay the entire sum so found to be due after deducting therefrom all previous payments and all amounts to be kept and all amounts to be retained under the pro- visions of the contract. All prior partial estimates and payments shall be subject to correction in the final estimates and payment, The final payment shall not be due and payable until the expir- ation of thirty-five (35) days from the date of acceptance of tha work by the City Council.
