RECOMMENDATION: 1. Accept the war completed by J.E.R. Construction and General Engineering Incorporated. 2. Instruct the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion. ANALYSIS: n arc 16, 1981, the City entered into a contractual agreement with J.E.R. Construction and General Engineering Incorporated for the construction and installation of eighteen hundred (1,800), plus or minus, lineal feet of twelve (12) it water main and appurtenances along Pacific Coast Highway, between Newland and Magnolia Streets and one thousand (1,000), plus or minus, lineal feet of twelve (12) inch water main and appurtenances along Magnolia Street from Pacific Coast Highway. Construction of the water main facilities and appurtenances have been completed per the plans and specifications of Cash Contract 536 and, therefore, the Public Works Department recommends acceptance of the project and requests the Notice of Completion be filed by the City Clerk. As a result of one essential Change Order, the cost of construction exceeded the contract amount of $63,286.14 by $637.04; however, this overage is substantially below the Change Order amount authorized by the Council. FUNDING SOURCE: City water funds. ALTERNATIVE ACTION: Deny acceptance of the work and instruct the Public Works Department can how to proceed with the contract. ATTACHMENTS: one.
