STATEMENT:

of to F00 Feet North of
On DecemLer 19, 1977, the City Council authorized a call for
bids for the improvement of Algonquin Street.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Accept the low bid and award the contract to lAc%fee and Morisette
Construction, Long Beach, California, in the amount of $25,839.00
and reject all other bids.
ANALYSIS:
The project was estimated at $21,500,00. The bids were received
on January 9, 1978 and are listed below in order of dollar amount:
1. McAfee & Morisette Construction $25, 839.00
2. Sully Miller $25,665.94
A!+hough there is a $4,300 difference between the engineer's
estimate and the low bid, because of the small size of this
project and also because of recent increases in labor and material
cost, the low bid is acceptable in comparison to the project
estimate.
FUNDING SOURCE:
The project will be funded from the City's Gas Tax Fund (60%) and
~
County Arterial. Highway-- Financing Progr:m (40%) funds.
