Funding Source: Revenue from Nonresident Library Card Fees. Recommended Action: Approve the appropriation of $36,000 into the Library Service Fund Account R-LX-LS-392320, Nonresident Fee. Alternative Action(s): Do not approve the recommended allocation and allocate differently. Analysis: On September 26, 1994, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 6633-C, approving the charging of a nonresident library card fee to nonresidents for circulating library material. (See attachment #1) The current fee is established at $25.00 per card. The City Council determined that all proceeds from this fee are to be divided sixty percent (60%) for books (materials) and the remaining forty percent (40%) to the General Fund. Based on FY97/98 revenue of approximately $60,000, it is estimated that the FY98199 will generate a similar amount. Therefore, $36,000 (60% of $60,000) should be appropriated into the Library Service fund to purchase books and other library material. A final appropriation adjustment will be made at the end of the FY98/99 when the final net proceeds are realized. Environmental Status: Not Applicable.
