Statement of Issue, Recommendation, Analysis, Funding Source, Alterna ' e Actions, Attachments: STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Pursuant to Council ,approval January 3, 1983, bids were received for furnishing of a new natural-gas engine for Water Well No. 2, located at the corner of Edinger and Springdale. RECOMMENDATION: Accept the low bid of.the Waukesha Engine Servicenter, Inc, in the amount of $34,754.00 plus applicable sales tax and issue a Purchase Order Contract. ANTAT.YgT q . Bids were received as follows: Waukesha Engine Servicenter, Inc. $34,754.00 ESCO Equipment Service Company $35,271. Cal -Maria Engines & Equipment, Inc. $35,959.00 FUNDING SOURCE: The Engineer's Estimate is $36,000.00. This project would be funded by Water Division Capital Outlay Account No. 920980. Statement of Issue, Recommendation; Analysis, Funding Source, Alternative Actions, Attachments:/ STATF.MP.NT CAP T.q.qTTF. - Council approval is sought to solicit bids for the furnishing of a new natural-gas engine for Water Well No. 2. RECOMMENDATION: Approve plans and specifications. 2. Invite Sealed .Bids. ANALYSIS• Water Well No. 2'.. existing engine needs a major overhaul after approxi- mately 34,000 hours running, with a pumping capacity of 1,550 gallons per minute. The new engine capacity would be 2.,000 to 2,100 gallons per minute;,a difference of 450 g.p.m. or 1 c.f.s. To purchase water from Metropolitan Water District, 1 c.f.s. = $280/day versus the cost of pumped well water. at $13.0/day. Savings in one year will be $54,000. FUNDING SOURCE: The Engineer's Estimate is $36,000.00. This projectwould be 'funded . by Water Division Capital Outlay Account No. 920921.
