Workman, Assistant City Administrator SUBJECT: Approval of Two City Council Representatives to Travel to Sacramento and Washington, D.C. to Meet with State and Federal Legislators and Agency Representatives on the City's Funding Priorities and Related Legislative Issues Statement of Issue, Funding Source, Recommended Action, Alternative Action(s), Analysis, Environmental Status, Attachment(s) Statement of Issue: There is a need to appoint two City Council Representatives to travel to Sacramento and Washington, D.C. to meet with State and Federal legislators and agency representatives on the City's Funding Priorities and Related Legislative Issues Funding Source: Sufficient funds have been included in the Council Intergovernmental Relations Account to cover such travel. Recommended Action: MOTION TO Appoint Mayor Debbie Cook and City Councilmember Shirley Dettloff to represent the City Council this month in Sacramento and Washington, D.C. to discuss the City's funding priorities and other related legislative issues with State and Federal legislators and agencies. Alternative Action(s): 1. Select other Council members to represent the City Council. K .QUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTIO MEETING DATE: February 4, 2002 DEPARTMENT ID NUMBER: AD Analysis: Over the past three years, the City Council has annually been sending representative from the City Council to Sacramento and Washington, D.C. to meet with legislators and agency representatives to discuss the City's funding needs and priorities and other related legislative issues. This year it is recommended that the Mayor and the Chair of the Intergovernmental Relations Committee, Councilwoman Dettloff be appointed to represent the City Council in these efforts.
