Subject: Just a heads up
On your item for the next council meeting, we will be revising the recommended action slightly. It will read on the
agenda, what you wrote, "Motion to ask the city Council to repeal chapter 9.60.030 — Hypnotism — Practice Prohibited —
of the Huntington Beach Municipal Code" with the added language — by directing the city attorney to return with the
appropriate ordinance for repeal.
The motion will look like:
"Motion to ask the city Council to repeal chapter 9.60.030 — Hypnotism — Practice Prohibited — of the Huntington Beach
Municipal Code by directing the city attorney to return with the appropriate ordinance to effect the repeal."
This will direct Jennifer to bring back the strike through ordinance for first and second reading. Would you read the
complete sentence into the record when you make your motion, because Jennifer has told me the agenda language
does not replace the language on the packet submitted by the originator. If ther3e is a discrepancy, the original
language takes precedence. By reading the motion, it will put it into the record. Thanks.
