UBERUAGA, City Administrat PREPARED BY: RON HAGAN, Director of Community Service SUBJECT: CREATION OF FOURTH OF JULY DONOR WALL AT CITY HALL Statement of issue,Funding Source,Recommended Action,Alternative Action(s),Analysis,Environmental Status,Attachment(s) Statement of Issue: The Fourth of July Board would like to establish a "donor wall" in the lower level of City Hall to recognize and honor those individuals, families and businesses who enroll in the Huntington Beach Fourth of July's "Parade 2000" membership organization. Funding Source: Not Applicable Recommended Action: Direct staff to work with the 4th of July Board to create a donor wall in the lower reception level between meeting rooms 6 and 7 of City Hall which will include art work, plaques, and recognizing members who join "Parade 2000". Alternative Action(s): I Do not approve the donor wall. 2. Approve with specific changes in the design, .location, etc. Analysis: Local artist Pei-Feng (Patty) Liang has donated more than 100 hours to create a painting which reflects the themes and traditions found in the City's annual Fourth of July celebration. This work of art will be the focal point for a permanent "donor wall" which will recognize and honor the many Parade sponsors and individuals, families and companies who are part of the "Parade 2000" membership. Liang's work has been exhibited throughout the United States, China and Hong Kong. She currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Pan Pacific Performing Arts, Inc. "Parade 2000" is an on-going Parade fund raising campaign which is striving to enroll 2000 members by the year 2000 (see attached brochure). At the VIP Bash on July 3rd at the Waterfront Hilton, Tom Adams, president of Tiodize Company Inc. of Huntington Beach bid $4,100 for the honor of being the sponsor of Liang's work.
