The Beautification Committee, in one of itts initial projects' has concluded that such a designation would-be a most beneficial step in performance of our task. After considerable consultation by the entire committee with city and chamber officials, and with both expert horticulturists and nurserymen, we have found that the Ianceclatus (Co Eitrinus) or Lemon Bottle Brush would be best suited for this official designation. our studies have shown that the Bottle Brush is well suited for this area in that it will withstand both wind and frost, is easily. grown and maintained, and that this beautiful tree is most highly recommended for new tract parkway planting by the City Engineering Department. The Committeets selection of the Bottle Brush Tree and the request for itas official designation has been approved by the Board of Directors of the Woments Division. It would be sincerely appreciated if you would give your kind consideration to this request by your endorsement of our selection and recommenda- tion for this official designation* Very truly yours, /s/ Ann Seiersen, Chairman City Beautification Woments Division Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce DEDICATION By order of the Mayor of the City of Huntington Beach the redwood tree at Civic (.enter is hereby dedicated m the OF'>' I IA L CHRISTMAS T1d E, of the City of Huntington Beach.
