STATEMENT OF ISSUE
There is a need to inform the community about the upcoming Huntington Beach
Art Center and a sign has been designed to be placed on the building for this
purpose.
RECOMMENDATION
Approve the design and mention of parties financing the renovation of the
Huntington Beach Art Center on the temporary sign.
ANALYSIS
The Huntington Beach Art Center will rely on funding from various sources to
complete the renovation and provide quality arts programs to the community.
Because of the broad base of support, groups such as the Huntington Beach Art
Center Foundation will need to be recognized as participating in the financing
of the project. At this time, the city, the Huntington Beach Art Center
Foundation, the Allied Arts Board and the community will be identified on the
temporary sign to give appropriate recognition and to establish the art center
as a public/private partnership. The design has been approved by the Design
Review Board. The attached illustrates the language and location of the
temporary sign.
