Huntington Beach City Hall to Serve as Early Voting Site
(Huntington Beach, CA) This year, 2008, will be an exciting time from an
electoral perspective with the upcoming General Election on November 4.
We are pleased to announce that the City Clerk's Office in the city of
Huntington Beach has been approved by the Orange County Registrar of
Voters as an Early Voting Site. Early voting will take place during the
hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, October 20 through
24, and again on Monday and Tuesday, October 27 and 28. Early voting
provides any registered voter in Orange County an opportunity to vote in a
regular polling place prior to Election Day. City Clerk Joan Flynn said,
"The City Clerk's Office is pleased to once again partner with the Orange
County Registrar of Voters to bring this popular option to the citizens of
Huntington Beach. This opporunity is especially convenient for voters who
will not be able to vote at their assigned polling .place on November 4tn "
Huntington Beach City Hall is located at 2000 Main Street, on the S/E
corner of Main Street and Yorktown Avenue. The polling place will be
located in the Lower Level of City Hall in Room B-7.
Are you ready to vote?
Voter registration forms (in English, Vietnamese, Spanish, Korean and
Chinese) are now available in the City Clerk's office, 2"d floor of City Hall;
at any of Huntington Beach's libraries; Rogers' Senior Center; and at each
of the Huntington Beach Post Offices. You may also obtain a form from
the Orange County Registrar of Voters website at: www.ocvote.com. Still

Important Upcoming Dates:
® October 6, 2008 — Was the last day to register to vote in this
election and still be mailed a sample ballot pamphlet. Voters
registering after October 6, 2008, will NOT be mailed a sample
ballot pamphlet.
October 6, 2008 through October 28, 2008 — Vote -by -Mail ballot
applications are available during this period from the Registrar of
Voters and from the office of the Huntington Beach City Clerk.
Applications must be received by the Registrar of Voters by 5:00
pm on October 28, 2008.
® October 20, 2008 — Last day to register to vote for the November
election.
® October 29, 2008 through (November 5, 2008 — Vote -by -Mail
Voting or Late Conditions (Emergency Voting): During this period
vote -by -mail ballots are available when a voter's condition prevents
voting at a polling place. A written appplication signed under
penalty of perjury is required unless the absent voter's ballot is
voted in the office of the Registrar of Voters.
® November 4, 2008 — Election Day - Polls will be open from 7:00
am to8:00pm
November 4, 2008 — The deadline for the Registrar of Voters to
receive vote -by -mail ballots by mail or in person is 8:00 pm on
November 4, 2008. A voter may deliver his/her vote -by -mail ballot
in person to any polling place in the county by the close of the polls
on Election Day.

The Registrar of Voters is hiring poll workers for the upcoming elections
and could use your help. Training and a stipend will be provided. Call the
