PAUL C. JONES, being first duly sworn, de_po'sea and
says-. That he is now and. at all times herein mentioned was the
duly appointed, qualified and acting City Clerk of the City of
Huntington Beach.- a municipal corporation, and er-officio Clerk
of the City Council of said City.
That pursuant to the rovisions of the "Annexation
of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939"a and amendments thereof and
additions thereto, the City Council did on the 19th day of November,
1962, pass and adopt Resolution No. 1686 giving notice of the pro-
posal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of
Huntington Beach, said' territory being designated as "Sunset
Heights #1 Annexation", and said action being taken pursuant to a
written petition therefor. That annexation proceeding's were completed
by said City Counc:.I on the 21st day of January, 1963, by final
adoption of its Ordinance No. 949, said Ordinance becoming effective
on February 20, 1963. That by said proceedings said City annexed
the territory referred to in that certain certified copy of said
Ordinance No. 949 and a map delineating said boundary, which
Ordinance and chap are annexed hereto and by this reference incor-
porated herein. The boundary description of said annexed area is
set forth in Ordinance No. 949.
That all requirements of the laws relating to such
proceedings have been complied with.
That on the 20th day of February, 1963, a certified
copy of Ordinance No. 949 and a map of territory described therein
designated as "Sunset Heights . #1 Annexation" was transmitted to
the Secretary of State and was received and filed by the Secretary
of State on February 25, 1963.

The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at regular
held meeting on January 21, 1963, passed and adopted by an
affirmative vote of more than a majority of all the members
of said City Council , Ordinance No. 949, approving the an-
nexation to the City of Huntington Beach certain uninhabited
territory designated as "Sunset Heights No. I Annexation".
Enclosed herewith is a certified copy of Ordinance No. 949,
together with a map delineating the area described in the
Ordinance and s,-Ad area outlined on the map.

PETITION REQUESTING ANNEXATION
To the Honorable City Council ' in the City of Huntington Beach:
The undersigned, being the Owners of more than one
quarter (k) -of the hereinafter described lands, in territory
by area and by assessed valuation as shown on the last equal-
ized assessment roll of the "County of Orange, in accordance
with Section 35305 of the California Government Code, do here-
by respectfully request that the said hereinafter described
piece of uninhabited territory be annexed to the City of .Hunt-
ington Beach.
The property which is the subject of this petition
requesting annexation is fully described in Exhibit A attach-
ed hereto.
The undersigned owner hereby consents that the ter-
ritory herein sought to ba annexed to the City of Huntington
Beach shall be. taxed by the City to pay any and all indebted-
ness or other liability of said City contracted or existing
prior to the date hereof and the date of said proposed annexa-
tion equally and upon the same basis as property or territory
now, heretofore or hereafter included within the area- of the
City of Huntington Beach.
It is further respectfully requested that the Honor-
able City Council pass a resolution giving notice of the
proposed annexation at its regular meeting to be held on the
19th day of November, 1962.

That portion of Lot 2, Block 5, Tract No. 86, as per map recorded in
Book 10, Page 35, of Miscellaneous Maps, County of Orange, State of California,
described as fellows
Beginning at the Southwest corner of Sectlon 21, Township 5 South , Range
1.1 West, S.B.M. said. Southwest corner also being the center line intersection
of Rolsa Mica Road and 'Warner Avenue; thence, N. 00 40' 00" W. , 1340.66 feet
along; the center line of Bolsa Chica Road to an intersection with the center
line of Pearce Street ( a private ,stree16)said intersection also being a point
in the existing boundary of- the City of Huntington Beach as created by

The meeting of the Boundary Commission of Orange County, California; was called
to order by the Chairman Pro Tem, C.M. Featherly, November 13, 1962, at 9:04 A.M.

(SUNSET HEIGHTS #1 - CORRECTED)
The petition for the proposed annexation of territory to the City of
Huntington Beach (Sunset Heights #1 - Corrected)- was received and ordered
referred to the County Assessor and County Surveyor for checking and based upon
their reports, on motion of_ Commissioner Plumb, duly seconded and carried, the
Boundary Commission finds that the boundaries of the proposed annexation are
reasonably definite and certain as to Section 3, 002 of the Government. Code.
