The City of Huntington Beach Code states the following regarding the :,uilr.+nq of a church: 1 . Section 9201 . 3.5 - A use permit is required irr an R-3 zone. 2. Section 9231 .7.3 - A use permit is required in an R_a zone. 3. Section 9251 .2 - A use permit is r`aquired in an p-5 Zone. 4. Section 9454 - A use permit is required in a C-3 zone. A church, may not be erected in an R-A oi- R-1 zone without the grant; no of a Conditional Exception; and the stated requirement is that the aaplicant shuw a hardship.
