(3731d ) G s 00 APPEAL TO HUN T I NC TON BEACH CITY COUNCIL 0W#40*§*04** r rn keeping with the existing R zoning on this property, the lot size of which permits building of three units , a set of plans was submitted to the Planning Department that met all ordinances and codes and required ito variances. The Planning Department initially Stated that a Une Permit wt13 necessary because, " the property was on an art.;!rial highway . " An application for a Use Permit was made and denied, generally on the grounds that , " the proposed structures would not be compatible with adjacent properties . " We request revocation of this denial for the following reasons : 1 ) Subsequent to the denial , the Planning Department admitted they had made an error in stating the property was on an arterial highway, therefore there was no need for a Use Permit . Anv action resulting from the hearing on the Use Permit should be ignored since it was un- necessary to go before the Planning Cornni.ssion. 2 ) Subsequent to the denial , a Planning Department staff report showed that the proposed units would be compatible with the zoning and land use in the immediate area.
