Attention : Paul. C . Jonesl City Clerk
Please consider this an appeal to the granting by the
Runtington Beach Planning Comission of Use 'variance
096 for the following reasons :
1. Lack of adequate parkins facilities on promises .
2. Congestion of traffic near a main highway, ceasing
in and away from the proposed car wash.
I
3 . A definite downgrading of the area by allowing a
oar wash near esixting high typo commercial and
professional buildings and proposed now cos oroial
development.
4. Proposed variance would be materially detrisMntai
to the public welfare and injurious to the property
improvement ;:n the district .

Some Twenty-firo ( 2,5) sign tares of prop rty owners in
the immediate vicinity will be presented at the hearing.

Dear Mr. Prangastis :
It has come to my att ntion that in order to
establish a "car wash as a part of the
neighborhood ::hopping center at the northeast
corner of Slater and Beach Boulevard in
Huntington Et-ach, a zone variance inust be
granted.
Our firm feels that the establishment of the
afore said car wash will be of definite
bent!f s.t to the tonan is in 0--he shopping center .
Since tr _re are no other car washes in the
area , we feel that a car wash located here
could perform a valuable service for the com-
munity.
very sincerely,

Honorable Robert Lambert, Mayor
and City Council
City of Huntington Beach
Huntington Beach, Calirornia
Dear Mayor Lambert:
Lt the request of Kro James Perggastis , we are writing
your honorable body with reference to Auto laundries
in the City of Oceanside.
There are two auto laundries located within the City
of beeara ide , both being in co=ercial w ryes l ono
adjacent to an R-1 development and tho other adjacent
to a copsrolal development.
To my knowledge, having served on the City Council
since 1956, there have been no complaints on either
of the auto laundries.
I believe the auto laundries have a definite value
to a owreunity in giving specialised services to the
citizens of the uomwnity. Oceanside being a city
of over 30,000 find that these instaila«ions are
used extensively by the citizens of the commtnitye
Whop* those are properly designed to be compatible
with the area, we can foresee uo serious objections.
