Mr. Paul C. Jones
City clerk
City of Huntington Beach
P. 0. Box 190
Huntington Beach , California
Dear Mr. Jones :
I had been advised by your letter of October 21 , 1966
that a hearing will be held on November 7 , 1966, to
consider use variance 66-41 , an appeal from Dick Berg
Realty Company for property located at the northwest
corner of Adams Avenue and B rookhurst Street , Huntington
Beach. We are the owners and developers in a joint
venture with sons Grocery Co. and Sav-On Drug of the
shopping center at the northeast corner of this inter-
section. An a representative of all the owners , please
be advised that we are not opposed to any commercial
zoning in the general area of this intersection . We
are strongly opposed , however , to any encroachment
into the 50 foot building set back lira that is now
required by the City of Huntington Beach and was
adherred to in the development of our shopping center.
Your city has established this 50 foot set back and
has diligently enforced its use. We see no reason
to allow a temporary trailer or any permanent or
proposed structure contemplated for the northeast corner
of this intersection to encroach into the set hack.
Very truly yours ,
DS D BUILDINGS , INC.
