Gentlemen:

In regard to Use Variance No. 848 and the conditions set forth I wish to
sutwait ai► appeal for the deletion of conditions 1 and 3. My reasons for
submitting this appeal is that I have just purchased the A to L Auto
wrecking and Salvage operation and lease ttta property on which it is
located. Not being the owner of the land thu responsibility of conditions
1 and 3 are not with me but with the owner, a►y landlord. I have discussed
these matters with the landlord and have been informed the investment
necessary to comply with said conditions could not be made due to the
proposed freeway in thin area. Until the routing of this freeway is
settled the landlord Peals it would be: unfair to expect him to comply sine*
one of the proposed routes would cut through the property making his
investment futile. He therefore stated that until a firm decision has been
reached an to the freeway routing he cannot justifiably put out the amount
of money nectsmary to comply with said conditions.
The remaining conditions that were not up Wive all been agreed to and, as I
stated at the meeting with the Planning Coma►ittee, every one of those
conditions were lmrt of my long range plan before I h.id ever attended the
meeting. These conditions will be met as soon as possible, not because
they must be met but because I, as owner of this business, wart to build
something I can be proud of and something the City will be proud of and,
ultimately be rewarding to all concerned. Making a success of thi operation
is my goal. !My life's rsavinKis, in every sense of the word, (finan ially
and physically) have been invested here and because of these reaso s I
shall cooperate to the best of my ability iLn every way to make a success of this
venture, to work hard no that this City cart be proud of this operation, proud
that I have chosen their are.& to locate my business.
The foregoing is only a brief uccouhting of the reasons for my appeal to you in
deleting conditions 1 and 3. Your consideration and cooperation will surel,f be
appreciated and pleas* know that you will receive my fullest cooperation in all
scatters with regard to the operation of this business in the City of Huntington
Reach.
