Domer, Assistant City Manager SUBJECT: Approve the appointment of Mayor Matthew. M. Harper to the Oversight Board. of the Successor Agency of the former City of Huntington Beach Redevelopment 'Statement of Issue: Based upon the December 29, 2011, California Supreme Court Ruling; which upheld AB 1X 26 dissolving redevelopment agencies statewide, the Huntington Beach Redevelopment Agency was dissolved as of February 1, 2012. The City, pursuant to AB Ix 26, has become the Successor Agency to wind down the activities of the former Redevelopment Agency. In addition, AB 1X 26 requires an Oversight Board to oversee and monitor the actions of the Successor Agency of the Huntington Beach Redevelopment Agency. The Mayor is to appoint one member to the Oversight Board. Financial Impact: Not Applicable Recommended Action: Approve the appointment of the Mayor of the City of Huntington Beach; Matthew M. Harper, to the Oversight Board of the Successor Agency of' the former City of Huntington Beach Redevelopment Agency. Alternative Action(s): Do not.approve the appointment and direct staff accordingly. Analysis: Pursuant to AB 1X26; the Oversight Board was established to oversee the activities of the Successor Agency. Each Oversight. Board must be comprised of seven, (7) members to be appointed by the following entities: County Board of Supervisors,(2) — Steve Bone and Lucy Dunn Mayor (1) Largest Special .District (1) — Orange County Sanitation District — Joe Carchio County Superintendent of Education (1) — Carrie Delgado Chancellor of the California Community Colleges (1) - Andrew Dunn Former employee of the Redevelopment Agency (1) — Kellee Fritzal Pursuant to these regulations and due to the change in the City's Mayor, authorization is requested to appoint Mayor Matthew M.
