BEARDSLEY, Director of Public Works ' SUBJECT: Approve Residential Permit Parking District "F" - Statement of Issue,Funding Source,Recommended Action,Alternative Action(s),Analysis,Environmental Status,Attachments) Statement of Issue: Residents who live on Breeland Drive between Goldenwest Street and Feola Circle and on Rollins Lane between Breeland Drive and Retherford Drive have petitioned the City for a permit parking district. Funding Source: The provisions of HBMC Chapter 10.42 require that the residents choosing to participate in the residential permit parking district pay a proportionate share of the cost to establish the district. Typical costs include, but are not limited to, installation of signs, curb markings, staff time to issue permits, and administrative costs to create the district. Recommended Action: Motion to adopt Resolution No. R g—6CI establishing Permit Parking District "F". Alternative Action(s): 1. Motion to deny adoption of Resolution No. /8-6q and provide staff with alternative direction. 2. Receive and file this document. RtQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION MEETING DATE: September 21, 1998 DEPARTMENT ID NUMBER: PW 98-075 Analysis: The residents who live on Breeland Drive between Goldenwest Street and Feola Circle and on Rollins Lane between Breeland Drive and Retherford Drive submitted a letter to the Public Works Department requesting a permit parking district. These residents live on the west side of Goldenwest Street opposite Golden West College. The college conducts a swap meet every Saturday and Sunday. The shoppers attending the swap meet park in this neighborhood, thus impacting the above mentioned streets. The residents have requested the permit parking district on Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Environmental Status: NA Attachment(s1: City Clerk's Page Number No. Description 1 Vicinity Map 2 1 Resolution —� RCA Author: Bob Hidusky RCA permit parking rollins/bre -2- 09/09/98 4:32 PM RESOLUTION NO. 98-69 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ESTABLISHING PARKING PERMIT DISTRICT "E" WITHIN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted Ordinance No. 2977 allowing the establishment of parking districts in residential areas under certain conditions; and The citizens of the residential areas known as Breeland Drive between Goldenwest and Feola Circle and Rollins Lane between Breeland Drive and Retherford Drive have petitioned for establishment of a parking district; and The Director of Public Works has caused an investigation of parking conditions in the above mentioned area to be conducted and found the requirements of Ordinance No. 2977 to be substantially fulfilled; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that a parking district known as "Parking Permit District F" is herewith established consisting of the following street segments, days and time: Breeland Drive between Goldenwest and Feola Circle and Rollins Lane between Breeland Drive and Retherford Drive, Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 21st day of September 1998.
