Subject Chris Carr Park -- Playground equipment Data June 11, 1973
At the City Council's request several pieces of playground
equipment have been added at Chris Carr Park. The current
inventory now includes:
14 'cables with benches
4 barbeques (there was,evidenae of minimal use of the
2 checked)
4 totem poles for climbing
3 teeter totters
l large climber with slides
4 (of 6 eventual) swings
a patio area with questionable usage
RECOMMENDATION:
At their last regular meeting the Recreation and Parks
Commission recommended that the budget for playground equip-
ment at future parks be Increased and that in keeping with
the naturil design concept of Chris Carr Park that any adldi-
tional apparatus there be limited to the original budget.

Based on the recommendation of the Recreation and Parks
Commission, permission is requested to negotiate a contract
with the landscape architectural firm of Courtland Paul/
Arthur Beggs & Associates, to develop a Master Plan for
the Springdale -Hail Park.
Tom Severns, Development Coordinator, will be prepared
to answer any questions the Council may have.
