Parks; Edison, Murdy, Worthy and Marina • In total 48 of the City's 62 playgrounds have new, compliant play equipment Beach Public Services Center • September 7,1999 City Council approves _3 zrzm: x9 replacement of dilapidated restroom trailer and former Junior Lifeguard building used ;t n by Police and Community ME Services programs�M. �? • $500,000 from the Pier Fund Old Jr. Guard Building 1 ces Center • Located just south of the pier • BPSC Includes public restrooms, Summer Police Patrol, Volleyball and Surfing Programs, and opei for beach and Pier Plaza special events Program • Existing Sewer System components • 10,000 manholes • Over 600 miles of sewer pipeline • 28 sewer lift stations • Current Status • 40% of lines videced to date • Aging system • Few pipeline capacity problems • Infiltration/Inflow Issues Beach Public Services Center • Police work with Marine Safety to provide a safe environment for everyone to enjoy the beach, pier and Pier Plaza • 6 unisex, 2 women and 1 handicap accessible restroom available for the public • Community Services will conduct volleyball classes, leagues and camps plus surfing classes out of this facility that includes a small classroom that will also be part of the beach public education program. • Storage Is also available to support our many beach and Pier Plaza events ublic Mx r R View looking towards pier ces Center View from pier ntown 2
