HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Clerk - Goals - Quality Service Mission - Quality Servi• CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ' INTERDEPARTMENTAL COMMUNICATION HUNTING TON BEACH TO: Rich Barnard Deputy City Administrator FROM: Connie Brockway City Clerk DATE: March 2, 1998 SUBJECT: GOALS FOR OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK The following goals are not in any order of priority as each goal is of primary importance to this office: GOAL: Implement an imaging system in the City Clerk's Office The long-term goal is to implement imaging with all records from City Council/Redevelopment Agency actions to be immediately accessible to each department staff member at his/her desktop computer. These records include contracts, franchises, deeds, minutes, resolutions, ordinances, RCAs and all material considered by Council/Redevelopment Agency. GOAL: Conduct the General Municipal Election scheduled for November 3, 1998. GOAL: Continue to develop the City Clerk's page on the Internet. At present, the following information appears on the City Clerk's page: • City Council/Redevelopment Agency Agenda • City Council/Redevelopment Agency Action Agenda • Calendar of Community Events as provided by the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce • City of Huntington Beach Municipal Code • City of Huntington Beach Zoning and Subdivision Code Our goal is to add City Council/Redevelopment Agency Minutes to our page. We wish to develop the full potential of the Clerk's page. GOAL: Continue to develop the successful City Clerk's Volunteer Program. This on- going program has provided many hours of labor in projects for the Public Support and Records Divisions of the City Clerk's Office. The program has also benefited volunteers as their clerical skills have developed. Several volunteers Goals for Office of the City Clerk March 2, 1998 Page Two have used their experience in our office as a reference and achieved full-time employment in the private and public sector. GOAL: To continue to give excellent service to citizens, city department staff, other agencies, and the press. These services include ensuring agendas and supporting material on items under deliberation by Council are made available in a timely manner to allow the citizens and press to provide input to the City Council. Responding to telephone and counter requests for information on City Council actions, city laws, easements, rights -of -way, grant deeds, and similar records are services provided to the staff and citizens each day. cbmemos/98-29es CITY CLERK'S OFFICE QUALITY SERVICE MISSION The Mission of the City Clerk and Deputy City Clerks is to carry out the responsibilities of the City Charter which the people of Huntington Beach have established as the fundamental law of the City under the Constitution of the State of California. QUALITY SERVICE VISION The City Clerk and Deputy City Clerks will without fail continue to carry out our City Charter Mandate: To ensure the public timely access to all records under the safe keeping of the City Clerk's office and to render equal service to all on an impartial and neutral basis. 2. To record that which is true and to properly preserve all records entrusted to our office. 3.
