Statement of Issue: The salary of the newly appointed City Clerk should reflect the amount
awarded by the City Council on May 24, 2004. The City Clerk's salary and benefits are
modified by a resolution of the City Council.
Funding Source: Funding included in the FY 2003-2004 budget.
Recommended Action: Adopt Resolution No. Q OtA-4 A Resolution Of The City
Council Of The City Of Huntington Beach Modifying Salary For Calendar Year 2004 For The
City Clerk.
Alternative Action(s): Do not adopt the resolution and maintain the current salary and
benefits for the City Clerk.
Analysis: The City Charter requires that the City Clerk's salary be set by resolution of the
City Council. Proposed modified salary and benefit changes which affect the City Clerk are
the same as those approved for Non-Represented Employees.
Environmental Status: Not applicable.

RESOLUTION NO. 2004-40
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH MODIFYING SALARY FOR
CALENDAR YEAR 2004 FOR THE APPOINTED CITY CLERK
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach desires to establish benefit
changes for the appointed City Clerk effective June 1, 2004,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach as follows:
SECTION 1. Benefits for the appointed City Clerk shall be as reflected in Attachment
"A" hereto.
SECTION 2. The salary for the appointed City Clerk shall be set as reflected in
Attachment "B" hereto.
SECTION 3. Any existing provisions in conflict with the foregoing, whether by minute
action or resolution of the City Council, are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. All benefits and salary ranges established herein shall continue at their
highest levels until further modified by City Council action.

regular meeting thereof held on the 7th day of June 200 4
