Wilson, City Manager PREPARED BY: Bob Hall, Assistant City Manager SUBJECT: Approve Grant of Overhead Easement to Southern California Edison Company (SCE)for construction, operation, and maintenance of overhead electrical supply and communication systems on City owned property Statement of Issue: The City Council is asked to approve a Grant of Overhead Easement to Southern California Edison Company (SCE) for construction, operation, and maintenance of overhead electrical supply and communication systems on City owned property. Financial Impact: None Recommended Action: Authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to approve and execute the Grant of Overhead Easement. Alternative Action(s): Do not approve and direct staff accordingly. Analysis: In August 2012, SCE requested from the City a Grant of Overhead Easement for construction, operation, and maintenance of overhead electrical supply and communication systems on City owned property. The fifteen-foot wide easement would run fourteen feet east to west across the south portion of City owned property (APN 024-207-01) located at the intersection of 1st Street and Atlanti Avenue (see Attachment 2). (ATcA,tj ro) The City Attorney has reviewed and approved as to form the easement agreement. Staff has determined that its location will have minimal, if any, impact on the value or development potential of the City owned property. Staff recommends approval of the SCE easement.
