Reporting of Sewer Leaks a Subsurface leaks were not reported to state regulatory agencies Documented discussions with Orange County Health Care Agency in 1996 revealed that it was unclear as to whether leaks were reportable as spills x Protocol now in place to report conditions as required Involvement of Local Agencies • OCSD has worked with City since early 1998 on cooperative sewer repair funding • Potential for contamination from sewers discussed with affected agencies, including, OCSD, County Health Care Agency & SARWQCB, as part of 1999 coastal water pollution investigation meetings • County & OCSD participated in developing scope of work & funding for study that included subsurface conditions December 18, 2000 6 Dc intown Sewer Issu,s Update Summary M Downtown sewer leaks have been repaired t* Contract to authorize further studies for compliance with the abatement order on tonight's agenda $* Protocol is in place to insure proper notification of state agencies December 18, 2000
