Residential, commercial and industrial trash is collected & processed through Rainbow Disposal's Material Recovery Facility which significantly contributes to reduce the amount of trash that is transported to County landfills. California Integrated Waste Management Board Waste Diversion Program Efforts to Recycle, Reduce and Reuse discarded trash has resulted in 67% of the trash generated by our local residents being diverted away from the County landfill. In 1998 the City ranked 291sout of 448 jurisdictions in the State of California for its trash diversion program. In a recent survey of the 34 Orange County cities, Huntington Beach ranked 2Was having the most effective trash diversion program in the County at 67%. The city of Lake Forest was I s1with 69%.
