Hartge City Attorney Subject Request for Agreements Date September 27, 1977 Attached are letters to Broadmoor Homes and Christiana, Incorporated, relating to the installation of offsite water facilities. The City is requesting that Broadmoor install 503 ' of 12" plastic pipe under the Harbor Channel and that Christiana install 850 ' of 12" A.C.P. from the channel to an existing water main. They would be reimbursed for the cost of construction of these facilities after July 1, 1978. The cost of the work, if performed by Broadmoor and Christiana is estimated to be $30, 000. 00 and $.21,250. 00, respectively. These facilities are part of the City's transmission system and are not subject to Section 14 . 20. 060 of the H.B.M.C. Please prepare agreements to provide for reimbursing Broadmoor and Christiana for the constrution cost of water transmission mains to be installed in conjunction with their developments. The approved bulkhead .plans call for a. sleeve or opening to accom- modate a .12" water main to be constructed across the channel at a near future date. Please contact E. A.. Elevatorski; City Water Superintenaent., at (714) 536-5527for the requisite location and elevation of the opening. . This water main would connect to the 12" on site water main and is necessary to provide requisite fire flows for your commercial area. In order to facilitate the construction of the water main, we are proposing that your company install this line .under .a reimbursement agreement with the .City' s Water Department. Since monies were not budgeted for constructing the line. this .year, reimbursement could not be made until after July 1, 1978. Estimated cost for the 500 feet of .channel crossing is about $30,000 .00 . Please respond to our .proposal for constructing the 12" water main at.your -earliest . opportunity. Very truly yours, H.
