Box 310 HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA Office Phone: LExington 6-3520 i 16 NMa.y 1960 Gentlemen: i I am presenting you two maps showing property along the bluff be_ tween Baltimore and Detroit Avenues, a portion of which is on the bluff and the rest is in the valley. I am' r.ecord owner of all that portion of the property lying within the boundary lines as designed on the large map. I am desirous and hereby petition you to abandon California Street South of Chicago, and Baltimore Street from California Avenue . to the alley between Huntington Avenue and California Avenue.. I own all the property on both sides of California Avenue. I also own a triangular strip, which I have penciled in, South of Baltimore. Therefore, the closing of the streets would not effect any other property owner. This Street was dedicated on paper by A. H. Clute, in 1905. It has never been improved or used during the past fifty-five years. My purpose for abandonment of said streets is to file a new plotting and put all my holdings into acreage. Later I exr. pect to replot the ground, making it a beautiful residential district. We have several study plans for the replotting of this ground, designed and engineered by Don D. Hillyard. . Mr. Hillyard informs me that the County Boundary Commission will not grant the boundary lines unless this portion of- California and Baltimore are abandoned. Therefore, it is essential for the -abandonment of said streets before I can go ahead with my development. and improvements. I expect to make this one of the most beautiful sub- divisions in Huntington Beach, and have already spent several. thousand dollars surveying, planning, and engineering. Trusting I may have your cooperation in this matter, I am, Yours very truly, T. B. TALB T 11 B n ?XAL T:lib 2 Inds Honorable .City.
