RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the attached resolution of intent to vacate said easement and schedule the required public hearing for April 6, 1992. ANALYSIS: The adjacent owner in fee of the property served by subject alley is seeking control of the parcel so as to install security gates. The alley will remain an alley, but it will be private rather than public. This will relieve the City of maintenance and public liability responsibilities, and restore the property to the tax roles. On January 22, 1992, the Planning Commission found the proposed vacation of this parcel to be in conformance with the City's General Plan. This will be a vacation for street purposes only. All other easements will be retained. FUNDING SOURCE: None. No funds necessary. ALTERNATIVE ACTION: Deny the request and retain the easement.
