WHEREAS, on February 7, -1477, the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach duly adopted Resolution No. 4408 declaring
Its intention to vacate a portion of the rest side of Graham
Street at Slater Avenue, and referring to maps or plans on
file in the orrice of the City Clerk fora perticulars as to the
proposed vacation; and
Said resolution fixed the tine and place of March 14 , 19779
at the hour of 7: 30 parr. , or ae- soon thereafter as the matter
may be heard, in the Council Chambers in the Civic Center, ,
funtington Beach , California, for hearing all persons interested
:r1 or objecting to the proposed vacation, which time Mss not

on February 71 3977, ,the City Council adopted Resolution
No. 4408 which declared the City' s intention,•.,to' vacate a portion

of the west side of Graham Street at Slater Avenue.,
The Planning Commission on July 27 , 1976, determined conform-
ance with the City' s General Plan per Section 65402 of the Government
Code.
The vacation of Graham .Street is covered in Environmental
Impact Report No. 73-26 which was prepared and approved by the
City Council on June 3 , 1975.
It;. is reccnded that the City Council adopt this resolution
ordering the .vacation of that portion of Graham Street as shorn on
the,,attached map.

Dear Council Members :
The final map 'for Tract U630. dedicated to ` khe City the rt-
quired right of Ma to accom�aodate .,the 'landsca in' at'- the.

intersection of Graham Street and ."Slater Avenumr,,. which is t ~Yh ical
of ' all arterial highway intersections. At` the time. the map
recorded, Slater Avenue was planned to extend west 'of Graham
Street, therefore, the right of way dedicated with the map was
sufficient.
Slater Avenue is now designed to deadend, at Graham Streit,
therefore, . the alignment for -the landscaped area must change to
allow for the realignment bf Slater. The treatment given• to the
landscaped area will be the samse, but at a different location.
The. Planning Cama-Ission on 'July 27, 1976, d*tarmined conform-
ance with the City's General plan, per Section 65A02 of the
Government Code.
The vacation of Graham Street is covered in Environsentil
Impact Report #73-26 which was prepared and approved by the City
Council on June 3, 1975.
It is recommended that the City Council adopt a resolution of
