We have also examined supplementary docu- ments furnished us and executed bonds Nos, 230, 720 and 860 of said issue. Said bonds are designated "Water Bonds, 1955" and consist of eight hundred sixty bonds numbered 1 to 860, both inclusive, of the denomination of $1,000 each, dated August 1, 1955, bear interest at the rate of 5-1/2% per annum on bonds maturing in the years 1956 to 1962, both inclusive, at the rate of 3% per annum on bonds maturing in the years 1963 to 1976, both inclusive, and at the rate of 2% per annum on bonds maturing in the years 1977 to 1980, both inclusive, all interest payable annually for the first year and semiannually thereafter, and mature in consecutive numerical order $30,000 on August 1 in each of the years 1956 to 1958, both inclusive, and $35,000 on August 1 in each of the years 1959 to 1980, both inclusive. From this examination we are of the opinion that the proceedings have been taken in accordance with the laws and Constitution of the State of California and that said bonds, having been issued in duly authorized form and executed by the proper officials and delivered to and paid for by you, consti- tute the legal and binding obligations of said city and are payable, both principal and interest, from ad valorem taxes which, under the laws now in force, may be levied without limitation as to rate or amount upon all of the taxable property, except certain personal property, in said city. They may be delivered to the purchasers as soon as arrangements can be made. We enclose herewith three copies each of the Signature Certificate and Treasurer's Receipt. The Signature Certificate should be signed by the city officers as indicated and left undated. The signatures should be certified to by A.bank officer in the space indicated. The Treasurer or his deputy will come up to Los Angeles bringing with him the three executed copies of the Signature Certificate and the three copies of the Treasurer's Receipt. In the Treasurer's Receipt the amount of accrued interest (to be agreed upon with the bank) will be filled in and the amount of the total payment will be inserted in the indicated blanks. The date of delivery will be inserted at the time the Treasurer signs the receipt and receives the money. The bank has done this many times. Please be sure that two executed copies of each of these documents are delivered to the bank at the time of the delivery of the bonds. #2 - Mr. J. L.
