of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Uode. Said amendment
pertains to Section 9786 Effect of Setback Ordinance to
prohibit structures over 772 feet -in height between the
street line and the established setback line
The Planning Commission unanimously approved this matter
on November 7, 1967, and recommends adoption by your
Honorable Body

Beach. Ordinaarice Code is hereby amended and
shall read as follows

the taking effect of any ordinance estab3 ishizig
any setback line or lanes, or amendment of any such setback
Jxrie oi, lines, at shall be unlawful for any person, firm or
corporation to construct any building, structure, gall, fence
or hedge over 3 .feet an height or store or display mer—
chandisp witnin the space between the street lane and the
setback line, or lines, so established, except that a marquee
oc dopy whacb is attached to a builder which building
camp3les w"Ith the setback line or lines, or detached canopies
for an automobile service station,, may project into the set --
back area upon the condition that such marquee or canopy is not
more than 18 inches in thickness and shall have a ground clear—
ance of not less than 12 feet above the centerline grade of
adjacent streets® Permitted signs which are located within the
setback area of commercial or industrial uses shall have a
ground clearance of at least 10 feet unless the top of such
saga is not more than 331 .feet above the adjoining grade.
