Gentlemen : Transmitted herewith is a copy of Resolution No . 224, recommending approval of Zone Case 224. The proposal consists of a large portion of the area south of Edinger Avenue and west of Beach Blvd . , and involves seven different changes . The first change being approximately 20 acres 'Located on the south side of Edinger Avenue and 1320 feet west of Beach Blvd . , which is proposed to be changed from M-1 Light Industrial District to C-2 Community Business District . The second proposal is to change the zone on the south side of Edinger Avenue , north side of Aldrich Street and 150 feet west of Beach Blvd . from A-1-X General Agricultural District as adopted by Interim Ordinance No . 668 to C-2 Community Business District . The third change being a 200 foot strip on the south side of Aldrich Street , 150 feet west of Beach Blvd . , to be changed from A- 1-X General Agricultural District as adopted by Interim Ordinance No . 668 to C- Highway Commercial District . Letter of Transmitt Resolution No . 224 The Planning Commission also recommends a 50 foot set- back measured from property line along Beach Blvd . extending from Edinger Avenue south to Heil Avenue , and a 100 foot setback measured from centerline along Edinger Avenue extending from the Pacific Electric Railroad R/W east to Beach Blvd . The precise legal description of the properties involved is attached . The Planning Commission held a public hearing on the matter on January 16 , 1962 , at which time a petition was submitted by ten property owners suggesting changes . One letter was sub- miL:ted recommending changes in the setback provisions , and three persons appeared suggesting revisions . After discussion, the Planning Commission ordered the zone case to be readvertised for February 6 , 1962 , with revisions in the boundaries . On February 6 , 1962 , the Planning Commission held a public hearing on the matter at which time there was one letter protesting the change to C-4 along Beach Blvd . and t-w•o persons in favor of the new proposal .
