HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2019-23 RESOLUTION NO. 2019-23 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH TO IDENTIFY THE FY 2019-20 LIST OF PROJECTS FUNDED BY SB 1: THE ROAD REPAIR AND ACCOUNTABILITY ACT WHEREAS, Senate Bill 1 (SB 1), the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 (Chapter 5, Statutes of 2017) was passed by the Legislature and Signed into law by the Governor in April 2017 in order to address the significant multi-modal transportation funding shortfalls statewide; and WHEREAS, SB 1 includes accountability and transparency provisions that will ensure the residents of the City of Huntington Beach(CITY) are aware of the projects proposed for funding in our community and which projects have been completed each fiscal year; and WHEREAS, the CITY must provide a list of all projects proposed to receive funding from the Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account (RMRA), created by SB 1,to the California Transportation Commission; and WHEREAS, the CITY will receive and estimated $3,354,156 in RMRA funding in Fiscal Year 2019-20 from SB 1; NOW, THEREFORE IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, ORDERED AND FOUND by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, as follows: 1. The project proposed to utilize the full allocation of RMRA funding in FY 2019-20, in addition to local funds, is identified in the proposed FY 19/20 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The streets identified are: ARTERIAL REHABILITATION PROJECT Slater Avenue (Gothard to Beach) Newland Street (Yorktown to Garfield) Atlanta Avenue (Bushard to Brookhurst) Graham Street (Warner to Slater) Atlanta(Delaware to Beach) Garfield (Main-Delaware) Newland (Ellis to Talbert) Talbert (Springdale to Edwards) Brookhurst (Garfield to Yorktown) 1 Resolution No. 2019-23 In addition, the City is including the previously approved FY 2018-19 Project, also identified as "Arterial Rehabilitation Project" since it is not anticipated to be completed by June 30, 2019. 2. The project will fully rehabilitate the streets with a projected completion by the Fall of 2020 and an expected life of 20 years.
