[X] Yes [ ] New Policy or Exception Statement of Issue Recent revisions to the Brown Act necessitated a larger official city posting board which is located outside the lower entrance to the Council Chamber on the west wall. The new board will accommodate all legal postings of the City Council/Redevelopment Agency, Planning Commission and all other city boards, commissions and committees to which the City Council appoints members. Recommendation: Adopt Resolution No. "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH DESIGNATING A SITE FOR THE POSTING OF OFFICIAL NOTICES" Analysis: Legal postings of the city include City Council/Redevelopment Agency agendas, Planning Commission Agendas, agendas of other city boards, committees and commissions; adjournment notices, special meeting notices, Maddy Act List, notice of vacancies on city boards, commissions and committees, city ordinances, public hearing continuances, and other legal notices Funding Source: None Alternative Actions: Select another location. Attachments: Resolution No. {� V RESOLUTION NO. 6662 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH DESIGNATING A SITE FOR THE POSTING OF OFFICIAL NOTICES WHEREAS, the California Government Code requires that all cities post legal notices at a designated location; and The City Council desires to designate a location for the posting of such legal notices, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby resolve as follows: 1. That the posting board located outside the lower entrance of the City Council Chambers, on the west wall, is hereby designated as the site for the posting of official notices 2. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rdday ofj ary, 1995. [X] Yes l� 5S-; [ ] New Policy or Exception # 6 Statement of Issue, Recommendation, Analysis, Funding Source, Alternative Actions, Attachments60/01 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Section 500 (c) of the City Charter which mandates that city ordinances be posted within 15 days of adoption at three places designated by the City Council has not been updated since September 18, 1978, at which time council approved the following locations for posting: City Hall, Central Library and the Senior Center. RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 6 6.5"3 granting authorization to change the legally mandated locations for posting to exclude the Senior Center and to add the Main Street Library to the Civic Center and Central Library as the official posting locations. Although not legally required, the City Clerk is requesting authorization, to post ordinances at the Graham and Banning Street library annexes on a permanent basis. ANALYSIS: To better inform the public, the posting of ordinances at the Main Street, Graham and Banning street libraries is necessary, and will complement the full City Council agenda packets which the City Clerk's office has for many years provided to these locations.. FUNDING SOURCE: None. ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS: Select alternative ordinance posting locations. ATTACHMENTS: Resolution No. (.0 553 CB:tr RCA4.DOC RESOLUTION NO. 6553 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH DESIGNATING SITES FOR THE POSTING OF ORDINANCES WHEREAS, the City Charter, Article 5, Section 500 (c) requires that the City Clerk post ordinances 15 days after adoption in three places designated by the City Council within the city. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach hereby designates the following locations for the posting: 1. Huntington Central Library located at 7111 Talbert Avenue, 2. City Hall Official Public Notice Board located at 2000 Main Street, 3. Main Street Library located at 525 Main Street. Be it further resolved that the City Clerk is authorized, but not required, to post ordinances at the Graham Street and Banning Street Libraries.
