STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Section 500 (c) of the City Charter which mandates that city ordinances be posted within 15 days of adoption at
three places designated by the City Council has not been updated since September 18, 1978, at which time
council approved the following locations for posting: City Hall, Central Library and the Senior Center.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 6 6.5"3 granting authorization to change the
legally mandated locations for posting to exclude the Senior Center and to add the Main Street Library to the
Civic Center and Central Library as the official posting locations. Although not legally required, the City Clerk
is requesting authorization, to post ordinances at the Graham and Banning Street library annexes on a permanent
basis.
ANALYSIS:
To better inform the public, the posting of ordinances at the Main Street, Graham and Banning street libraries is
necessary, and will complement the full City Council agenda packets which the City Clerk's office has for many
years provided to these locations..
FUNDING SOURCE:

ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS:
