Broussard:jm REQUEST FOR ACTION MEETING DATE: November 5, 2001 DEPARTMENT ID NUMBER: PW 01-139 Alternative Action(s): Forego approval of the plans and specifications and direct staff on how to proceed. Delay of this action could impact the construction schedule of these projects. Analysis: The Orange County Public Facilities & Resources Department (OCPF&RD) proposes to construct three urban runoff diversion projects within the City. The first project is located at the County's Huntington Beach Channel adjacent to their storm drain lift station near Beach and Adams. The second project is located at the County's Talbert Channel just north of Yorktown Avenue. The third project is located at the County's Greenville-Banning Channel just north of Atlanta Avenue. These projects will divert urban runoff to the Orange County Sanitation District for treatment. A community meeting was held by the OCPF&RD at the Newland Barn on October 30, 2001 to present the projects to the public and answer any questions. Before the OCPF&RD can proceed with projects within the City, a resolution must be adopted by the City Council. Staff has reviewed the plans and specifications and recommends approval. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 5th day of November , 2001.
