Huanglongbing (HLB)
• Kills citrus trees
• No cure '
• NOT harmful to humans or animals
• Latency period of 2-5 years
Impact on Citrus
• Florida economy—$7.8 billion in lost
economic activity; more than 7,513
jobs lost
• Six out of ten residential properties in
Southern California have a citrus tree—
each of them is at risk
• $2 billion CA industry at risk

Visual Survey and Sample Collection
• 400-meter survey
— ACP and plant tissue
• Surveyor makes contact with
property owner to access
the yard
• Surveyor will collect leaf
samples—approximately 20 _
leaves
• Samples are bagged and
shipped to CDFA laboratory
in Sacramento
• If sample is confirmed _
positive, resident will be
notified and the tree will be i
removed for free
