with the duties of general budget policy administration and general city policy management,
general research and systems of development, administrative management, community relations,
public information and volunteer program administration.

2.08.030 Eligibility—Councilmember. No person elected as a Councilmember of the city

Statement.of Issue: Chapter 2.08 of the Huntington Beach Municipal Code should be
changed to reflect the new title of City Manager, pursuant to the revised City Charter.
Financial Impact: No fiscal impact.
Recommended Action: Motion to:
After the City Clerk reads by title, approve for introduction Ordinance No. 3906, "An
Ordinance of the City of Huntington Beach Amending Chapter 2.08 of the Huntington Beach
Municipal Code Relating to the City Administrator."
Alternative Action(s): Do not adopt Ordinance No. 3906.

Analysis: Pursuant to the newly adopted City Charter, the role of the City Administrator
was changed to that of a City Manager. The current title of Huntington Beach Municipal
Code Chapter 2.08 is City Administrator. Chapter 2.08 should be amended to reflect the
correct title of City Manager.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
AMENDING CHAPTER 2.08 OF THE HUNTINGTON BEACH
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. The title of Chapter 2.08 shall hereafter be City Manager.
SECTION 2. Chapter 2.08 of the Huntington Beach Municipal Code is hereby amended
to change the title of City Administrator to City Manager, as follows. Section 2.08.060 is hereby
repealed.
2.08.010 Powers--Duties. In addition to such other duties and responsibilities as may be
designated by the Charter of the city, this code, or the city council, the office of the city
manager shall perform and be charged with the duties of general budget policy
administration and general city policy management, general research and systems
development, administrative management, community relations, public information and
volunteer program administration.
