AVAILABILITY OF PUBLIC NOTICE
All interested parties are notified that an application, dated June 20, 2019, has been received from the
Department of the Navy, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest by the Commander, Eleventh Coast
Guard District for approval of location and plans for the construction of a new causeway across a navigable
waterway of the United States. Section 9 of the Rivers and Harbors Appropriations Act of March 3, 1899, as
amended (33 U.S.C. 401), requires approval of the location and plans for causeways over navigable waters of
the United States, prior to commencing construction. The proposed new causeway has received congressional
consent through the 2018 appropriations bill, H.R. 5 15 5, Public Law No: 115-232. A Coast Guard Causeway
Permit will be required for this project.
WATERWAY AND LOCATION: Anaheim Bay, mile 0.9, at Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach, at the City
of Seal Beach, Orange County, California.

Public Notice (11-152), dated July 17, 2019, is being published on the Coast Guard Navigation Website. The
public notice contains a detailed description of the proposed new causeway project and includes location maps
and drawings. Interested parties may access Active Public Notices for Bridge Projects for the Eleventh Coast
Guard District at the following web site https://www.navicen.usci�.gov/Dl IBN. The public notice may also be
obtained by calling the Eleventh Coast Guard District Bridge Office at (510) 437-3515, by writing to
Commander (dpw), Eleventh Coast Guard District, Coast Guard Island, Bldg. 50-2, Alameda, CA 94501-5100,

Mariners are requested to comment on navigational safety issues. Interested parties are requested to express
their views, in writing on the proposed new causeway project, giving sufficient detail to establish a clear
understanding of their reasons for support of or opposition to the proposed work. Comments will be received
for the record at the address given in Public Notice (11-152) through August 16, 2019.
