Subject: City Council Meeting-City Manager Candidates
Dear Council Members,
I want to wish you all a successful City Council meeting today. As an engaged
resident of Huntington Beach and a founding member of Huntington Beach Short-
Term Rental Alliance and speaking on behalf of the alliance, we ask that you choose
a new City Manager who has a depth of understanding and is willing to do the work
to bring in new sustainable revenue to the city. That includes cannabis and short-
term vacation rental TOT revenues.
We want to see the City of Huntington Beach's finances continue to be AAA rating,
and it's people welcoming to actions that welcome visitors to our beautiful city, who
in turn support HB businesses for the benefit of all residents. If our leaders
understand the benefits of new opportunities like cannabis and STVR's, and then
explain and present data to residents, then that will mitigate drama and
uneducated opinions amongst residents.
It takes strength and courage to stand in front of hostility. You all worked very hard
to get to where you're at. HBSTRA has faith that you are taking the long view of the
economic realities of today to make plans for the economic realities of tomorrow.
Thank you for taking the time to read this email. We look forward to the council's
decision of a new city Manager.
