A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CLOSING
OF MAIN STREET AND 5" STREET TO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC
FOR CERTAIN SPECIAL EVENTS
WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach hosts several special events and related
activities to promote tourism in the City; and
These special events and related activities sometimes occur on Main Street and 5`h Street
in the downtown area; and
These special events and related activities sometimes draw large crowds which create
pedestrian and vehicle congestion; and
In order to promote public safety, the City Council has determined that the closure of
portions of Main Street and 51h Street during the special events listed below is necessary for the
safety and protection of persons who might use said streets,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby
resolve as follows:
1. Approve the temporary closure of portions of Main& 51h Street during the following
special events:

April 25, 2020 California Cruise In
June 20, 2020 Chili at the Beach
July 3, 2020 41h of July Block Party
August 6, 2020 Surfing Walk of Fame Induction
October 10-11, 2020 Surf City Days
September 19-20, 2020 HB Air Show Displays
October 31, 2020 Halloween Activities
December 6, 2020 Light a Light of Love

regular meeting thereof held on the 16th day of December , 2019.

I, ROBIN ESTANISLAU, the duly elected, qualified City Clerk of the
City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do
hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted
by the affirmative vote of at least a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a Regular meeting thereof held on December 16, 2019 by the following vote:
AYES: Brenden, Carr, Semeta, Peterson, Delgleize , Hardy
