HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2020-01 RESOLUTION NO. 2020-01 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO SUBMIT APPLICATION(S) AND ADMINISTER USED OIL PAYMENT PROGRAM FOR ELIGIBLE CALRECYCLE GRANTS WHEREAS, pursuant to Public Resources Code sections 48690 et seq. authorize the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) to administer various grant programs (grants) in furtherance of the State of California's (state) efforts to reduce, recycle and reuse solid waste generated in the state thereby preserving landfill capacity and protecting public health and safety and the environment; and In furtherance of this authority, CalRecycle is required to establish procedures governing the application, awarding, and management of the grants; and CalRecycle grant application procedures require, among other things, an applicant's governing body to declare by resolution certain authorizations related to the administration of CalRecycle grants. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of Huntington Beach does hereby resolve as follows: 1. The City of Huntington Beach is authorized to submit UOPP Application(s) to CalRecycle. 2. The City's Director of Public Works or his/her designee is hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to implement and secure payment under the UOPP. 3.
