Re: Request for Notice of Meetings to Consider New or Increased Fees or Service Charges
Dear Robin,
I am writing to renew our annual request for notification in advance of any upcoming meeting to consider new or
increased fees or service charges being considered by City Council.
Pursuant to section 66016 of the Government Code, written notice is requested of all public meetings convened by
City of Huntington Beach to consider new or increased fees or service charges. Section 66016 requires that such
notice include the time and place of the meeting,a general explanation of the matter to be considered, and a statement
that the data required by section 66016 is available. The law also requires that such notice shall be mailed at least 14
days prior to the meeting to any interested party who files a written request for mailed notice of the meeting.
All requested notices should be mailed or emailed to me at the above indicated address.
At SoCalGas,we are proud to serve the residents of Huntington Beach and sincerely appreciate the long-term,
collaborative relationship we have established with the City. We understand that SB 1 money is flowing in support of
the City's many needed infrastructure investments. There is a tremendous amount of work happening that will
inevitably increase as state money continues to come in. Here at SoCalGas,we have a lot of work as well. We are
making needed investments enhancing our system to continue the safe delivery of natural gas(and renewable natural
gas)to the residents and businesses in Huntington Beach and throughout southern California.
As we are both making significant investments in critical infrastructure,we believe there is tremendous long-term
benefit to coordinating our efforts. We are kindly requesting a 3-year list of the City of Huntington Beach's
projects that will impact the public right of way. Understanding the City's scheduled Capital Improvement Plans
and more specifically, which roads will be worked on which dates, will help the utility better coordinate work to avoid
unnecessary conflicts.
If you could please send an updated project list by March 1,2019 we would very much appreciate it.
We believe consistent, open communication will add tremendous value as we look to better coordinate work in the
public right of way. We value our relationship with the City of Huntington Beach and look forward to our continued
partnership. Thank you.
