What is this interim fence work? - The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) will oversee the installation of intFrim fencing on the corner of Hamilton Avenue and Magnolia Street to complete and connect the 16- foot barrier fence currently in place. The fence will include a privacy screen to provide a visual and dust barrier. No excavation work is necessary for the installation of the interim fencing. wo A Public Hotline, (714) 388-1825, has been established by the Ascon project team to ensure questions or concerns from the public can be addressed promptly. (rev.5-2020) 0Y Why is this work being done? The 16-foot barrier fence was installed last year to mitigate impacts of noise and dust at the Site. This interim fence will close the current fence gap at Hamilton and Magnolia and will be in place until excavation activities at the Site resume. Following the completion of the cleanup work and installation of an environmental cap, the 16-foot barrier fence will be replaced with new residential-quality fencing along Hamilton Ave and Magnolia Street. When will this work take place? Work to install the fence is anticipated to begin on Monday, December 14, 2020. The work will take place over 2 to 3 days between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. How will this work be carried out? The fence will be installed by driving 20-25 posts using a gasoline-powered post driver. The driver will complete a single pole in about 5 minutes. Following pole installation, fencing and screening will be installed.
