HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2021-47 RESOLUTION NO. 2021-47 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ADOPTING A LIST OF PROJECTS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2021-22 FUNDED BY SBI: THE ROAD REPAIR AND ACCOUNTABILITY ACT WHEREAS, Senate Bill I (SBI),the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 (Chapter 5, Statutes of 2017) was passed by the Legislature and Signed into law by the Governor in April 2017 in order to address the significant multi-modal transportation funding shortfalls statewide; and SB 1 includes accountability and transparency provisions that will ensure the residents of the City of Huntington Beach(CITY) are aware of the projects proposed for funding in our community and which projects have been completed each fiscal year; and The CITY must adopt by resolution a list of all projects proposed to receive fiscal year funding from the Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account(RMRA), created by SB1, which must include a description and the location of each proposed project, a proposed schedule for the project's completion,and the estimated useful life of the improvement; and The CITY will receive and estimated $3,866,667 in RMRA funding in Fiscal Year 2021- 2022 from SB1; The CITY used a Pavement Management System to develop the SB I project list to ensure revenues are being used on the most high-priority and cost-effective projects that also meet the communities priorities for transportation investment; and NOW, THEREFORE IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, as follows: 1. The following list of newly proposed project(s)will be funded in part or solely with Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation revenues: ARTERIAL REHABILITATION PROJECT Edinger(Saybrook to Countess) Warner(Algonquin to Los Patos) Talbert (Edwards to Springdale) Newland (Talbert to Slater) 21-10044/262580 1 Resolution No. 202147 Brookhurst (Yorktown to Adams) Saybrook (Edinger to Heil) Springdale (Warner to Slater) 2. The project will fully rehabilitate the streets with a projected completion by the summer of 2022 and an expected life of 20 years.
